Warmest welcome ꩜

I’m Maura, a student midwife, birth doula, and creative - but ultimately, I am a woman of many interests. These days, most of my time is spent studying the vast body of knowledge that is midwifery care. I aim to integrate my unique life experiences alongside clinical skills and traditional practices to provide holistic, individualized well-woman and perinatal care.

My creative work is primarily in the media of writing, photography, and charcoal, although I see art in every crevice I encounter. I find my creative pulse is deeply complemented by the endlessly inspiring work of tending to the cyclical nature of the womb, the emergence of new life, and transformation that abounds in the perinatal space. To witness nature unfold through the birth, life, and death of all sentience is my ultimate muse.

My earliest years were spent witnessing pregnancy and birth, as the second eldest of 7 children. I was fortunate to spend my formative years living in Éire on my ancestral land before moving to Florida, where I lived for the majority of my childhood. During my early adult years, I was deeply immersed in the Yoga tradition, meditation, and ongoing introspection. My interest in Eastern traditions led me abroad, where I spent many years living in Asia.

My main objective in life is to remain curious. I feel deeply resourced by the acts of witnessing, questioning, and learning.

I currently reside in Ojai, California, on Chumash land, where I find joy in building community and reciprocity with the land.

In gratitude to my mother, who endured birth to bring forth my life.

An offering to all who have come before me.

May this work restore harmony on Earth.
